Demo 0.1
Demo 0.1 is the earliest development build of the game to ever exist, and is 1830 days older than the final build of the game. In fact, at this point the game is simply Crower VS The Time with a few graphics and music changes.
There is also a backup version that's 2 days earlier than the final 0.1 build. There's virtually no differences between them except for two music tracks being changed in the final build. As such, the backup version won't be covered.
(This page is incomplete. The other stuff related to this prototype page will eventually be added at some point. At the moment the early boss track cannot be ripped to .wav properly due to a small error with the soundfont.)
Changes from Crower VS The Time
Because the game has barely been changed by this point, only the things that have changed between this build and Crower VS The Time will be covered.

Status bar was changed from being simply red to a flashing scroll.

Crower's front standing sprite was changed to Kazooa.

The inanimate clock sprite got changed into a blue. spinning clock. While time clocks was never used in the final game, a single one can still be found in one of the levels of World 3.

This big. unused time cell sprite was changed into a purple spinning clock. Just like the blue clock above, this also went unused. It was however used as the basis for the timer clock seen on the HUD in later prototypes.
As for its original purpose, it has sadly been lost to time.
Sound Differences
Despite the build being so early and most of the sounds and music being missing, what is there is still very early, with most of the differences being in the instrumentation of the songs.

The instruments are different. In both the backup version and the final build of Demo 0.1, the tempo of the music will be bugged if another track has already played. In the final 0.1 build a temporary fix was attempted by setting the sound type to multimedia. Demo 0.2 and onwards fixed this issue completely.

Completely different. This track was going to be used for a possible Wario land II style credits roll, and is from before I began taking influences from Wario: Master of Disguise.

Different instruments. Plays a teeny bit faster than final. Also has the beginning part at the end of the track. This is just a leftover from when the midi used to fade out at the end, which was removed because music tracks fadeout often doesn't make sense within the context of video games. As a result of these parts being removed from all the level tracks, some of the tracks came to have a bit of silence at the end before returning to the beginning again.

The difference that stands out the most here is the use of both bass lead and harpsichord.

A tune with unknown purpose. This track aren't in the files for the backup version of demo 0.1. It became the unused ending theme in later builds and the final version. Even so, a version of this track with more suitable instrumentation was used in builds 0.8 and 0.9.
