Demo 0.3

Demo 0.3 is a extremely early development build of the game, and is 1813 days older than the final build of the game. This is the first build where more apparent changes have been made, and graphically breaking the original story cutscenes in the process. This was the last build made until december 2009.

(This page is a work-in-progress. The stuff related to this prototype page will eventually be added at some point.)

Graphical changes

0.1 0.3

Right and left standing sprites changed to Kazooa, the main difference being the standing pose, the hair, and the pointed beak.

0.1 0.3

Time cell changed to coin. The end of the animation suddenly flips the K back, a oversight that wasn't fixed until V2.0 of the game. In-game the animation plays so fast that it is almost unnoticable.

0.1 0.3

Crower cutscene head changed to Kazooa cutscene animation. Just loops between these frames at this point in development due to the object not being coded to show the appropriate frames.

0.1 0.3

Left side of CVSTT sofa changed to Kazooa's sofa.

0.1 0.3

Story text graphic changed to early dialogue box.

0.1 0.3

Changed to the early Title logo that would end up unused in the final game.

0.1 0.3

Invisible sound test/unused minigame 2 wall graphic changed to boulder.

0.1 0.3

Was extended to 180 frames with smoother transition between colors.

Level differences

World 1

Level 1

0.2 0.3 Final V1

Stage 1 is extremely early at this point. While the top left portion stayed mostly the same, the bottom part was changed entirely, with several rocks spelling out the word "TEST". This means the stage layout was originally meant to be just a test, but ended up being used as a base for the stage's design seen in the final game.

Misc screen differences

0.3 Final V1

The title screen is just like the one from Crower VS The Time, minus the changed graphics. The logo has been updated, while the coins were originally "Z"s.

0.3 Final V1

The first screen of the intro cutscene is in, albeit in a very rough and barebones shape. This marked the start of things being more and more influenced by Wario: Master of Disguise. Because this screen was modified from an existing one, the changes in graphics also started to graphically break the rest of the story screens from Crower VS The Time:

Sound Differences

The "low on time" variations of the level tracks(except the one for normal bosses) are now in, and even these have differences. The biggest differences is some of the earlier versions plays at a higher pitch , while all of the tracks has the faster tempo defined in the midi files themselves. The tracks used in the final version instead relies on the sound_background_tempo function in Game maker, and they play at a slightly faster tempo compared to these.
