Demo 0.8

Demo 0.8 is a very early development build of the game, and is 1252 days older than the final build of the game. The levels of world 6 have been nearly finalized, with only level 3 being a work-in-progress. Is the first build to feature the title screen background that would barely be altered in later builds(exception being demo 070.0, but that was just a different background being overlaid on top of almost everything).

(This page is a work-in-progress. The stuff related to this prototype page will eventually be added at some point.)

Graphics changes

To come later.

Level differences

World 1

Layout has changed. The boss is now implemented, albeit in a rough state, and it doesn't disappear when its health is fully depleted.

World 2

Enemies have been added.

World 3

Enemies have been added.

World 6

Has an actual layout. Wall graphic has also been changed.

Has an actual layout. Wall graphic has also been changed. This room would remain(though with coins) as a unused duplicate in the final version.

Layout has barely been started, with only the beginning part having been modelled out.

Misc screen differences

Title screen is now just like the final version, except the title logo remaining unchanged, "START" and "PASSWORD" are more basic-looking similar to Crower VS The Time, info bubble is the same, cursor is still the white gloved one from CVSTT, TV screen is all gray, and no copyrights at the bottom. The password screen is no longer a part of the title screen room.

Is completely different. The only symbols available to set are the numbers. This screen was supposed to let players enter passwords to continue where they left off. It was remade into a cheats system because I had no clue on how to program a password system. As it is, ot is mostly non-functional.

Is lacking the necessary objects found in the final version. The gag that happens when Kazooa falls asleep is also absent.

Kazooa now appears in the scene. The layer with coins was changed to a sprite-based object to make it appear in front of the Kazooa and the falling coins.

Scene has been modeled out except no TV, and the additional objects are missing.

Scene has been modeled out except no TV, and the additional objects are missing.

Exactly the same as in demo 0.7, except the TV is now here, and quite off-center. It is possible the TV was aligned to be exactly in the center at one point, but a change made within the sprite's origin settings shifted its position.

Looks almost like the final version, save for using the World 7 background as a placeholder, and a different doorframe with an actual door on it(no knob was ever drawn on it). The second and third screens are identical to this, so they won't be shown.

Room height is 1200 pixels instead of 960 pixels. Everything is shifted sown, with the end of the spotlight being visible. Background is a different shade of blue, and the effect behind Kazooa flashes a rainbow of colors as opposed to the various blue shades in the final. In addition to the dialogue border already being drawn on screen, a similar, but separate object that isn't following the view is placed at the coordinates. If I remember correctly, I must have placed it there to see if the border was drawn at the correct height.

Completely empty.

Quite early. Nothing of note happens on this screen since the objects haven't been coded yet, let alone existing.

The test room for one of the very first bosses ever programmed. It was scrapped pretty early, and its behavior remains the same in the final game.

Test room for the World 1 boss. For the majority of these test rooms, they never changed very much besides the graphics. The room size was never even adjusted to fix the bottom and right corners being cut off. The purple background from World 1 in this prototype was also left alone.

A completely unused jingle. It was replaced with a sample of Wario which also became unused in the final version.
