Evolution of Lazy Tily
On the surface, Lazy Tily is basically a Lazy Lucy version of Tailyna. On the inside however, Tily is pretty much her own person. While she would try to be as lazy as possible just like Lucy, she knows when to put this habit of hers aside
The earliest look of Tily
Lazy Tily was created in october of 2007. During this time I secretedly liked the Lazy Lucy series, but back then I couldn't draw Lucy as well as I do nowadays, so Lazy Tily was born to work around this problem of mine, and to also have something else to focus on from time to time.
In the first pic Tily's design is quite different compared to later ones. It is not neccessarily the earliest design of Tily though. This probably happened because I kinda forgot how I drew her.
In the second pic hair can be seen peeking out from under Tily's hat. This detail was quickly removed though, but managed to reappear a few more times in later years.
2008-2013
This period pretty much describes two things only; the hairstyle of Tily, as well as her overall design.
Through the years 2007 to 2009, Tily's hair was drawn twice, probably due to confusion over how Lucy's hair actually looked like. It is only from the end of 2009 and on that Tily's hair would be fixed. Still, it was far from being proportionally correct at this point.
The other thing different about Tily is her shoes; they're much bigger compared to Lucy. Her west is also very much unrefined, and her shirt has a collar around the neck.
2014
By this point I had just learnt how to draw the Lucy character. As a result Lazy Tily wasn't very much needed anymore. Despite this I still like drawing Tily from time to time.
Because I was finally able to draw Lucy, Tily's design also got updated a bit to more closely match Lucy herself. Even so, a few minor details from earlier drawings remained; while her shoes is now the size of Lucy's, the tips of them still have the same design, and the bits of hair hanging down still look the same as earlier
2015 and beyond
By this point Tily's design is now similar to that of Lucy. Her shoes have been fixed, and her bits of hair hanging down has also been changed to look more like Lucy.
How will Lazy Tily look like in the future? It's hard for me to say. For now though I like the way Tily is.
