About me, and this website.

Or where did that Conker fansite go?

This website, as stated on the front page, is meant to showcase the work I've done over the years.

Click here if you want to take a look at how the site has evolved.

Short version:

This website has its roots from back in 2007, when I was experimenting with website design. The site first had the name "World of Dumb Crows", named after a fictional character of mine. I stopped it in 2008 due to other responsibilities of mine at the time.

The project got redesigned in 2011, and in 2012 went out to the world wide web still under its original name. The name was changed in 2014 after a long 7 years of usage.

I'm a guy from Sweden, and likes to draw, videogames, and drawing comics. I used to make my own games with Game Maker, but have since 2022 moved on after thinking about what I should do in the future.

I used to also run a fan site dedicated to Conker The Squirrel. After I took my sites down for a period of time and also because I just couldn't find the time to update the site any longer, I decided to retire Conker's Homeland. Some of its contents will be rehosted on this site though, because it would be a waste to just throw away the important stuff.

I've always wanted to pursue my interests in drawing and comics. I've also been writing my own stories. From things like The Awful Shitchurch, The Wario show and Wario bros & Maya the Bee, I've been storywriting for as long as I can remember, and it is something I want to keep on doing.

Long version:

I started this website in about 2007, which was based a bit on my previous project Project Dizzy, an early attempt at website design. Back then this website was known as "World of Dumb Crows". It underwent a bit of redesign in 2008, but was put aside after my Conker’s Homeland website were started.

Progress on the site picked up again in 2011. It went online in December 13 2012, and was still known as World of Dumb Crows. After getting my sites moved to a better host in 2014 the "World of Dumb Crows" name became redundant, due to the fact that the site simply wasn't just about a character of mine, so I had to give myself time to think of a new name. The new name of the website, "LucybonesSquirrel's Webplace", was decided upon after I gave the site another redesign.

As for myself, I'm a guy who lives in Sweden, on the north side of europe. I've mostly been known as ConkerGuru online, but my current username is LucybonesSquirrel, and I always refer myself to the latter name nowadays. I was born in may 1991, and I have several hobbies and interests including drawing, videogames, taking apart videogames (and hacking them), and doing comics.

I've been working on designing and developing PC games for a very long time now, but several years later after I caught myself thinking about what to do in the future(in August 30 2014), did I think it was time to move on, and get back to the interests I've always wanted to pursue, mainly art and comics. While I did eventually return to GameMaker starting in 2018, it was mostly to improve a few games of mine, and I now consider myself a retired GameMaker user. Kazooa's Woods is perhaps the very last GameMaker related project of mine, and I intend to try finish it at some point.

Drawing is something I've always done since I was little. I drew the Earthworm Jim character quite alot for many years, but stopped after inventing my own characters. Initially I wanted to aim for working with comics and 2D animation, but got my mind ensnared by game-creation software GameMaker in early 2006, which kept me working on all the game projects that I came to start(over 60 different ideas to be exact). I only managed to finish about 20 of them in the end, but that was enough for me to think about moving on to better things.

During this game-making period, I managed to create The Shitchurch; the stories of Conker's Bad Fur Day character Great Mighty Poo coming to a different world, where he starts bulding his own church, and makes life worse for an other church standing directly oppsite of his. It later turned into a show full of garlic and gasses(the Wario Show, starring Wario, Wario-Ware-Man, Warrio, and VARIO as the main characters), which finished writing in february 2016.

The Wario Show later changed into Wario bros & Maya the Bee where a little of everything happens. The first series is just about the same as The Wario Show, only trying to incorporate things of more realistic or serious nature, and also removing Wario from the main characters cast)(although a mini version of Wario does appear in a story from series 2, it is none the less an entirely separate character).

The second series, while similar to series 1, incorporates many changes to make it more different. From Warrio getting a love interest to Wario-Ware-Man and pals attempting to fly, this part of WB&MtB marks a point where things were being a bit "spiced" up to try and differentiate it from The Wario Show. It is also from here on that the "character script" format used since The Awful Shitchurch stories was dropped for a more traditional form of storytelling.

Series 3 on the other hand, is where things really starts to change; Wario-Ware-Man and friends now live in a town where Calimero and co reside in, and together they crack on various investigations and chase criminals. While the humor from previous series still come up every now and then, there's now a bit more realism and seriousness going on. Unfortunately this series came to an early end and very much of what I had in mind for it wasn't realized.

At the moment two entirely new series are being worked on, one that picks up where WB&MtB stopped, and another that entirely goes its own way to further separate itself from anything else that's come before.

Right now in my current life, I have the wish to start working on comics again, and to program homebrew games for the Nintendo 64 system. So far I've managed to make some little games of my own, but I hope to make something a little more complex later on.
