Wario bros and Maya the Bee - Trivia and Stuff
This series marked a shift both in tone and direction, and gone was Wario from the main cast of characters. Compared to The Wario Show, this series had far more written down on notes here and there, so there will be a lot more stuff that was left on the cutting floor as the series progressed.
Since the settings for this series was more or less already set in stone, I can't provide any sorts of back stories regarding most stories or any recent thoughts of mine apart from all the ideas I had on mind which will be coming later. If I find any more stuff regarding the series itself, then I'll expand the below sections to include them.
--The beginnings--
The series began in May 6 2017, three days after the special episode story of the third series from The Wario Show were written. It only existed in the form of a template .doc file, which basically laid out the header for the series that would be written, and by that point I hadn't even thought what this new series was really going to be about. In June 15 2017 the header would be changed to the then-current format, but the first story still hadn't been written. It was only two days later in June 17 2017, that the first story in the series finally began.
--Series 1--
Just like The Wario Show, the first story for this series was more or less a test bed for how the series could be turning out like. One of the changes I had intended for it was to make these stories a bit more realistic and serious in tone. Wario has also been removed completely(apart from references and making a minor appearance in mini form during Series 2). For this story alone I think I succeeded in capturing the sense of seriousness and realism that I was seeking. For later stories however it was more of a mixed bag.
It is also in this story where Maya the Bee are shown living next door to Wario-Ware-Man and his siblings' house. She now wears her blue dress, and is also the same height as Wario-Ware-Man, Warrio, and VARIO.
When it came to the series' settings, it was still the same as in Series 3 of The Wario Show. The odd thing is that the island they live on is still called "Wario Island" despite Wario's absense from the series.
Story 2 sees Wario-Ware-Man & siblings going on a little motorcycle trip with Maya. It all seems to be going fairly well despite a few mishaps, until Wario-Ware-Man & siblings gets assaulted by a gang of Biker-Woodsters who steals all their shopping bags and drives off, with Maya being the one to come to their aid.
Just like the first story, what I had on mind here was probably something with a little bit of seriousness to it. Unlike the first story though, I started adding some more humor to things here and there, but nothing to the extreme like the earliest stories of The Wario Show. Contrary to expectations, this is also the first story to feature less swears, which would continue to be cut down throughout the first series since I started finding other ways to write funny things and scenes.
Story 3 has Wario-Ware-Man & siblings and Maya taking the train home after a long day away from their home place. After they arrive at the train station VARIO has his ticket stolen and is forced to try and get past a guard, but this guard is not so easily fooled by VARIO's antics.
This story has a bit of a story to it regarding the final scenario, which will be talked about further down the page. This is also the first story in which Priscilla from the Calimero(1990) series appears.
Story 4 meanwhile, sees Warrio, VARIO and Maya going out on their own trip while Wario-Ware-Man stays at home, and all sorts of things starts going on when Wario-Ware-Man is not around to keep an eye on their siblings, including a Wario-nose stealing a big pearl that Warrio stole from Maya earlier.
I don't remember very much about the overall writing process. I guess I just wanted to write on a story that didn't involve Wario-Ware-Man for once.
Story 5 has Wario-Ware-Man & siblings invent a physical real-life version of the block puzzler Panel de Pon, named "Fatso de Pon". However, their little game soon becomes the main point of interest to a certain game-making company who intends to produce a video game based on it. This eventually attracts the attention of the fairies from Panel de Pon, and the main character from that series is certainly NOT happy about the news, forcing Wario-Ware-Man to try and convince the game-maker to cancel their video game.
This story has a bit of a background behind it as well, which will be described further down the page. As for the story itself, I probably wrote it just for fun. It is also the first(and only) story in which Lip the Flower fairy makes an small appearance.
Story 6 sees The Monitor returning again, this time kicking VARIO out of his own house by renting it out to a redneck Dumb-Crow. After several failed attempts to make the Dumb-Crow leave, VARIO finally rents the house to a sumo-Woodster who is EVEN worse.
I probably wrote on this story to try and get the first series done quicker. It also served as yet another attempt of mine to write on a Oggy and The Cockroaches inspired story. It was also a bit rushed in preparation for the eight and last story for Series 1.
Story 7 has Warrio and VARIO riding in a remote-controlled air balloon Warrio's just bought. It all takes a wrong turn for them though once Drawcia the teenage witch gets her hands on the remote and uses it to make their trip in the skies as hellish as it can possibly be.
This was another one of those stories which were inspired by write on a Oggy and The Cockroaches. Like story 6 this was also rushed in preparation for the eight and last story for Series 1.
Story 8 sees Maya the Bee getting bitten by a unusual Wario-Nose during her little stroll. Not only is she feeling a bit strange, she also grows bigger over time. As time keeps going though Maya starts to feel progressively worse which forces Wario-Ware-Man to try and come up with a cure for her deadly illness.
This story is the last in the first series, and also the very last one to be written both in swedish and in the so called "Character speech script" format that already had plagued The Wario Show since the start.
Overall, Series 1 was a bit experimental, just like the first series of TWS. I was looking to make this new creation of mine a bit more serious in nature. There were some shortcomings though, and I sorta failed to achieve what I wanted to do with it. I'm blaming myself for it due to a few things... Number one; I came to reuse some of the humour from The Wario Show. Number two, and this is the main mistake I think I did; recycling the "character speech script" format that I had been using since The Awful Shitchurch series. I also came to rush stories 6 and 7 in order to get the first series done quicker. Besides this, I think the first series turned out fairly ok.
--Series 2--
This series brought a lot of changes with it. It marks the end of the "The Wario Show" era, even if some things are still a bit similar between Wb&MtB and TWS. Gone was the "Character speech script" format, and this is also where I first started to write my stories in plain english from the beginning. What separates this part from the first one is that this time Wario-Ware-Man and his siblings starts facing tougher times towards the end of this 2nd part, along with some other things. I made all these changes to try and differentiate it from The Wario Show. But maybe even these changes weren't enough, and perhaps a complete change in settings and location would make the difference...
As to how the second series began, it all started with a simple test story from November 23 2018, barely a month before the first series wrapped up. This story was basically written as a test to see how the header would be laid out for later stories. The plot for the first story began to be written on in December 20 2018, almost two weeks after the first series ended, with the second series starting over a week after the plot for the first story was finished on March 21 2019.
Starting with the first story, the Wario bros sees a visit from Maya's childhood sister Cindella. Warrio instantly falls in love with her, and tries his hardest to be a thrillseeker like her, with mixed results.
This was the first story in which many of the changes were made, and would for most part come to stay for later stories of mine. It was one of many stories to be mostly taken from Oggy and The Cockroaches, which was done mainly to get some sort of material in, and to get Series 2 done a bit quicker. It is also the first story where Cindella is introduced.
The second story sees VARIO going on a dinner with the daughter of a rich raccoon family, Tailine. However, due to a mixup in the mail VARIO receives a magician's suit instead of his formal suit, and things starts to go awry for him in the end.
There's not much I can recall about how this story came to be, since I was mostly focused on getting stories written for this series. Maybe the plots documents have some unused details that I may not remember, but I don't think anything was left out. This story is also the first, and only appearance of Tailine and her family.
Story 3 sees Warrio trying to impress on Cindella again. As usual, a number of unforeseen things makes him fall short.
The fourth story has Wario-Ware-Man and siblings attempting to fly, with VARIO being the test subject in a number of unsuccessful attempts.
The fifth story has VARIO going out on a treasure hunt, only to discover that in order to get his "treasure" he has to break into a maximum security prison. The result; an all-out prison siege!
This story was originally going to be about Maya the Bee getting herself into some sort of strange dreamworld. It was replaced though because I thought it would be too early for such a story to be written. The sixth story has Drawcia competing at the Witch-Artist's-Competition. Due to the unfortunate tendency of her art coming to life as real objects, she inadvertedly causes damage of biggest grade to hundreds of artworks and sculptures in the painters' room where the competition is held.
I wrote on this story in order to give more focus on characters that weren't Wario-Ware-Man, Warrio, VARIO, or Maya. That's all I can remember though. This is also the first, and only appearnce of witch artist Drawina who challenges Drawcia at the competition.
The seventh story finally sees Warrio and Cindella breaking up their relationship, although something else turns out to be responsible for triggering the breakup; a tape recorder swallowed by VARIO that involuntarily activates from time to time, even under the most inappropritate situations.
I already had it on mind that Warrio and Cindella's new relationship wouldn't be lasting for very long, so this was pretty much decided from the get go. From the seventh story onwards Cindella mostly remain friends with Warrio despite the breakup.
Story 8 on the other hand, is where things start to go deeper into the harsh realities of life on Wario Island (or Dumb-Crow Isle as it's now being called due to Wario's complete absense from the Wb&MtB series); economy shortages, bills to pay, and lack of food. These things combined forces Wario-Ware-Man and his siblings to try get a job to make some money.
I decided to write this story out to try and bring up topics that isn't all fun and such. Prior stories, including The Wario Show, has almost always shown things to be good and well, and I wanted to change this view for this story.
The ninth story sees Maya the Bee going out on a little trip to a special bakery store to shop some ingredients for her strawberry cake. Along the way she meets several characters who she willingly helps, and gets things in return for it.
This is the first story to focus solely on Maya, and Wario-Ware-Man, Warrio, and VARIO doesn't appear or show up at any point. It is also the first story where Valeriano and Minnie Mouse appears. The latter was kind of my way of making up for cancelling the Maya's Magical Quest series of stories, while the former was yet another character from the Calimero series to be given an appearance, sort of foreshadowing what the third series would be about.
The last story, episode 10, finally sees the Wario bros moving out of the house they've been living in since the start of The Wario Show. Maya the Bee also tags along with them, also having had enough of the state of her own economy as of late. After a fair journey of relieving past moments they then end up in a completely different place, and that place is NOT "Wario Island"/"Dumb-Crow Isle". From this point on their lives completely change, and their former home will in a matter of time become just a memory.
This story was basically written to truly signify the end of the "The Wario Show" era, and marking the beginning of something new and different. It is the first story where Wario-Ware-Man & siblings and Maya finally moves out of their old houses to try and seek new places, along with visiting old locales and places. Susie from the Calimero series also makes her first appearance at the end of the story.
After I got the second set of stories done, how do I look back on it now? It was certainly a bit of a change compared to the first series, and I really gave it my all to try and make it different. Some things could have been done better, but I'm still glad I wrote on it. It basically set the path for the third set of stories that I started writing on sometime after Series 2 was finished.
--Series 3--
The third series is where things really starts to change; In series 3 Wario-Ware-Man and friends now live in Calimero's hometown, where they and the Green team both live opposite to each other in an apartment complex. Together they investigate interesting places and solve crimes, leading to a new adventure almost every time.
The reason for the change in location is due to how the last story of Series 2 ended, where Wario-Ware-Man and co, after a long journey in search for new places to see, come to a town completely new to them. The look of the town even if seen only from a distance, appears identical to the one where Calimero and his friends live, foreshadowing what the 3rd Series would be about.
The first story has Calimero and friends investigate a old temple along with Wario-Ware-Man & siblings and Maya. Several members of the group goes missing in the process, including Warrio and VARIO who end up getting kidnapped by the Wario-Nose tribe still living in the temple. Warrio temporarily becomes the new king after he pulls up a garlic from his pocket, but ends up being locked in a cage along with VARIO for eating the garlic he held in his hand, while Piero and Susie also gets locked up due to the former stealing their treasure.
This story was basically a very different version of an episode where Calimero and the Gang explores some underground caves in search of aliens. It is also the first to feature Calimero and his friends as part of the cast of main characters alongside Wario-Ware-Man, Warrio, VARIO, and Maya.In story 2 Priscilla wants to try and ride a motor-bike after seeing Wario-Ware-Man and his siblings driving around on their bikes. However, her desire to learn and drive on a bike soon overtakes her common sense, which eventually leads her to chasing a thief at night who looks remarkably similar to her.
Not much I can say about this story, apart from a single scenario which got rewritten for the finalized story. This is also the first appearance of residental thief Suzana, who basically serves as the mean counterpart to Priscilla. Emma and Elmyra Duff also makes their first appearances in this story. In story 3 Calimero and friends help Emma investigate a mysterious occurence at the docks. With their help she uncovers the fiends behind it all, which leads them to a base deep under the water, and in there Calimero and friends meets a very familiar face from long time ago.
This story is the first appearance of Sharon, a criminal who tried to frame a movie director in a episode from the 1990 Calimero series.
Story 4 sees Calimero and friends help Wario-Ware-Man and Warrio travel into a TV show to get their brother VARIO back after he accidentally teleports himself into it. Little do they know, that they will soon be putting a stop to a rather diabolical, but selfish plan of a certain Don.
This story was originally meant to appear in Series 2, but was moved to Series 3 because I felt it was too early for such a story to be featured in the second series. It is also a retelling of a story from the second series of The Wario Show.
Story 5 has Wario-Ware-Man and siblings' cousin Warigo decides to pop by Calimero's hometown for a visit, and Warrio & VARIO are meant to meet him up at the buses. When they don't turn up, Warigo decides to do a little bit of sightseeing around town, leading Warrio and VARIO to a search throughout town for their cousin.
Warigo makes his very first appearance in this story since The Wario Show.
In story 6 Maya the Bee has been having sleeping problems as of late, and Priscilla offers to help her have a peaceful sleep. It is easier said than done though because noises outside and around the apartment complex keeps disrupting things.
Don't really have much to say about this story. I guess I just wanted to try and picture Maya and Priscilla as being best friends or something, with Priscilla doing her best to try and care for Maya while the latter is going through her period of not being able to sleep.
Story 7 sees Calimero and friends travel to Paris in France to attend a musical stage performance. VARIO is meant to meet up with them, but since they're not there when he does turn up he decides to do a teeny bit of sightseeing. After a few mishaps VARIO's ticket blows out of his hand, forcing him to chase it all over the place, eventually landing him a ticket in prison.
The idea for this story was already written down by the time the second series was being worked on. I decided to make this story the very last because I thought it would be a good way to end the series. In my haste to finish it though it ended up being much shorter.
While the third series had a fairly good start, it came to be very shortlived as the Wb&MtB series were coming to an end, and as such one of the things I had set myself to do; to make it more serious or realistic, wasn't achieved in the way I wanted to. Due to a combination of many things during year 2020, this series took me longer to finish. On the other hand, if I were going to finish the series I would have had no other choice but to rush the stories I had left to do, so the last three stories came out shorter than usual.
The general concept of the third series came to be carried over to the "The W-W-M.W.V Team's Adventures" series because I felt there were things I didn't get a chance to explore or add on to while writing on the Wb&MtB series.
Scrapped ideas and characters
Compared to the "The Wario Show" series, Wario bros & Maya the Bee had a huge number of concepts and ideas written down, with most of them changing completely or being outright removed. Below are all the ideas that were considered for the series.
--Rejected Characters--There was also a number of characters considered for the series that for one reason or another, weren't used in the end. The info about these characters comes from the "Wario bros & Maya the Bee 3.8.3.txt" file, which is where general info about the series and its stories are also found.
Ranatan
Ranatan is a female frog who end up falling in love with Demetan, an outcast in the Rainbow Pond. Together they enjoy many advantures, though it's not without the dangers of predators and bullies lurking about outside the pond.
Ranatan was considered for Series 3, but wasn't used in the end.
The Wario Noses:
The Wario Noses are a trio of Wario noses who generally likes to make either the Wario bros' or Maya the Bee's life miserable. They all have a pair of RareWare-styled eyes, black legs and arms, and a mouth underneath... well, their noses(that also happens to be their bodies) that somehow appears when they talk, grin, or whatever.
Doo Doo
A fat, blue Wario Nose who is a bit stupid, but also has quite an appetite for garlic.
Warky
A green, promise-breaking, but yet just as stupid Wario Nose like Doo Doo. He is often very much laidback, and doesn't generally care what the others are up to. Despite this, he always likes to cause mayhem like his other friends
Joe
A normal-colored Wario Nose, Joe is the smallest Wario nose in the gang. Despite being smaller than his other companions, he is often the brain behind most operations, but is often forced to go solo because the others think his plans are stupid. Joe is extremely determined to earn money, and does whatever it takes to get his hands on it.
Jigglypuff
An female Pokemon who has the ability to talk in the language of humans, and can even feel, smell, and express herself like humans. For a pkmn of her kind she seem fairly intelligent, and always read books from time to time. She wears a straw hat with a blue band on it, and has green eyes.
In her pastimes Jigglypuff generally reads on her books, and really likes to dress up at times. She also likes Priscilla alot, and is very loyal towards her. Just like everyone else she heavily dislikes Mr. Critichelli, the latter who recently also finds Jigglypuff to be a nuisance to him.
Her singing had also improved over time, and instead of making people fall asleep her singing now makes people rather attached to it. Even the members of the Green Team applauded her singing when asked if she had any hidden talents.
The characters listed were all rejected as the series kept developing. With the Wario bros & Maya the Bee series being on its way out by 2020, and the amount of time that have passed, these characters were never realized.
There also exist earlier versions of this file, which may contain different info about the characters listed. While most are minor, one of the characters had an almost entire backstory written out which was later omitted!
Wario Bros & Maya the Bee notes list4.3.txt
This file basically contains ideas that were once considered, but ended up being either simplified, changed, or cut altogether. What follows is an extract of the contents of this file. Some changes might have been made, mostly to fix a few spelling errors and such.
--Series 1--
Story 3 changes:
It was originally intended to be the 5th story, but got instead turned into the third.
Final part changes:
The scene as a whole was going to be more like a scene from the final part of "Hair by Mr. Bean of London", an episode of Mr. bean. But the longer time passed since I thought of this idea the more I felt it wouldn't be turning out very good, so I decided to change the scene.
VARIO was also originally going to sneak past the guard unnoticed, similarly to Mr. Bean. This was changed so VARIO just tries to get past the guard in every possible way, even by force.
The ending was originally going to have VARIO in a bag, and get thrown into a transport train, just like Mr. Bean. He would also be faced with having to endure a very long travel across the globe, only to eventually end up in Japan. This scene was going to be replaced with VARIO being forcibly thrown into a transport train after enough times of trying to get past without showing his ticket and get dumped onto a faraway place, only for it to be heavily simplified so the only thing that happens is the guard beating up VARIO offscreen, and VARIO eventually taking a different way out.
Looking back on it all, I'm more than glad I didn't carry on with this version, since I find the ending of the finalized story to be much better.
Story 5 struggles:
Story 5 was going to be a spin of Panel de Pon, making full use of scenes with Wario-Ware-Man and co duking it out in a battle of Fatso de Pon.
However, as time went on I just couldn't see this working in a text format. On multiple occasions I considered either reworking this story, or scrapping it completely and start over. However, since a fair number of pages had already been written, I had no other choice but to carry on with the story and finish it to my best ability.
To get it done though, I had to cut down on the amount of "gameplay" scenes... which is probably a good thing, since the story is just 15 pages long. Trying to cram in all those scenes in the story in just a few pages wouldn't really have worked out.
Looking back on this story now, I kinda regret coming up with the idea of the Wario bros having their own game of Panel de Pon, because trying to come up with Panel de Pon inspired scenes in a text-based story were a bit of a pain. But due to the progress made it had to be finished.
Besides that, the rest of story I still like, one example being Lip the flower fairy making a appearance at the near end of the story demanding Wario-Ware-Man to scrap his "Fatso de Pon" game...
--Series 2--
After work on the first series finished, I began rethinking how I would be writing my stories; Series 2 stories started being written more like traditional stories as opposed to the "Character Speech script" format used in the earlier The Wario Show Series, including the first series of Wario bros and Maya the Bee.
The reason for this change was that the way I used to write the earlier stories just didn't work any more, and because of this I retired the old 'speech script' style in favour of a more traditional storytelling style.
Another thing I considered for series 2 were throwbacks to some of my earlier stories of The Wario Show series, which would've had the Wario bros once again interacting with the characters they met, even if they didn't remember having met them. In the end, such episodes didn't make the cut.
Story 5 was originally going to be about Maya the Bee embarking on an adventure after she ended up in some sort of fantasy-like world, where she would have met up with Minnie Mouse and rescue the latter's boyfriend, Mickey Mouse, from a evil emperor.
I dropped this story because it would've been too early for me to introduce such a story, and in its place I wrote on the "My Nice Little Prison" story, which saw VARIO going on a journey to find an hidden treasure inside of a prison camp.
Story 9 would originally have been "The Powerpuff Fatsos(Wb&MtB version)", which is essentially an remade version of the one from the "The Wario Show" series. However, I felt that it would have been far too early to write on such a story, so I decided to move it to the third series instead.
Another idea that would've filled the place of the original story was that Warrio would turn their backyard into a beach for everyone to do whatever they have in mind, with VARIO getting nothing but disaster from the customers. Alas, this also didn't get into writing because I would've found it odd for a story of humorous nature to be featured near the end of Series 2.
Both these stories had small summaries written for them. The plots for them were never written down though. The last one eventually got made in august 2 2020, labelled as a "scrapped series 2 episode".
--Original ideas for Series 3--
Series 3 was originally going to feature a lot of throwbacks to my earlier "The Wario Show" series, including a story where Warrio or VARIO(can't remember which of them) would be chased by all the fighter characters that had previously been "booted out" of the Wario Show by Wario so he and the Wario bros could get to work on the series just mentioned. What these fighters(like Mario, Link, and so on) didn't know was by this time Wario has long since been gone, and confuses Warrio or VARIO for him.
Another idea I was thinking of for an story was Maya dressing up as Trinity and... garlic knows what she was supposed to do in that story. I've forgotten a bit by now.
The third series as it eventually came to be was originally going to be the fourth. However, I realized that the Wario bros & Maya the Bee Series was already on its way out, so I decided to scrap all my plans for the original third series and move the stories intended for Series 4 to Series 3.
I intended to reuse the original series 3 concept of Trinity Maya somewhere in the story "Powerpuff Fatsos; Revisited". It never got used in the end though because the final story turned out quite different compared to what I originally had in mind.
Differences between the plot doc and the stories
The final plot document may contain some details that were rewritten for the final stories, or just simply got left out. The reasons for these could be either due to improvisation, me not being happy about this or that thing, or plain forgetfulness. Below are a list of such occurences.
As a general note, the stories which were based on episodes from Oggy and The Cockroaches had their plots follow said episodes much more closely to some extent(except for scenes that were replaced to work better with the series), while the finalized stories instead improvise where possible.Wario bros & Maya the Bee plot list Series 2 2.0.txt
The Fatso Joked
1. Before the part where Tailine's father just chuckles at the sight of all the pidgeons on her mother's hat, her mother originally didn't adore the pidgeons and say "Ah well, what can I say? I like pidgeons more than anything else.".
2. Tailine's mother originally shrieked in terror after the mini Wario lets out a loud belch in front of her face, and the latter would've disappeared right after that. While this bit was changed, at least the mini Wario makes a small reference to this after witnessing the mother belching back at him.
3. After the aforementioned scene, it was going to be mentioned that VARIO was walking away with a ashamed look on his face, with his hat down. Although this detail was left out, the part with VARIO picking up his hat and seeing a ugly-looking Dumb-Crow under it still occurs in the final story.
4. Tailine's mother appears to have gone through a personality change, from being just like Tailine's father to being her very own person. One instance is where Tailine's father kicks out VARIO, her mother would've been standing besides the father also telling VARIO not to come back. In the final story she instead protests her husbands actions by claiming she liked VARIO along with the pidgeons.
Go for it, Warrio!
1. During the part where Warrio is about to pull up his Wario-Bike, he does so by lifting a nearby bush revealing that the bike somehow had mysteriously gotten there. In the final story he instead pulls his Wario-Bike out of the pockets of his overalls. Can't remember why I changed it. Maybe I saw the need to improvise or something.
2. In the part where Warrio is spinning out of control on his bike after driving on the turtle, the brakes on the bike would have had literally broke instead of just stopping to function.
Flying High
1. When Warrio and VARIO keep ridiculing the little bird on the TV by flapping their arms like they were wings, Maya didn't originally tell them off.
2. Before Wario-Ware-Man tries taking off on the tree branch, Warrio didn't ask him about what Snake's been doing in later years.
3. The conversation between Maya and Priscilla originally didn't happen after the former tells Wario-Ware-Man and his siblings off for the fourth time.
My Nice Little Prison
1. At the beginning of the story, Drawcia was using her magic paintbrush to drag a large safe towards her while in the final story she instead paints the safe into existence.
2. When he tries to sneak into the prison camp, VARIO didn't knock out the prisoner lagging far behind to steal his clothes.
3. The exchange between the two guards outside VARIO and the Dumb-Crow's cell didn't originally happen, instead cutting straight to the scenario where VARIO and the Dumb-Crow goes to find the treasure.
4. When VARIO sees the photo of Drawcia, she is giving a thumbs up instead of doing the victory sign.
The Painting Contest
1. After the Woodster painted by Drawcia has barged out through the wall, the judge would've had both told Drawcia off AND demanding her to clean up the mess left behind. In the final story the judge does the former while Drawina does the latter.
2. After being praised by the judge, Adeleine wasn't asked by Drawing how she was able to do her painting to quickly. Adeleine was also going to say that she "almost always has a picture on her mind before starting to paint anything". This detail was left out of the final story.
Sitcom
1. After realizing that Drawcia has been playing her prank on VARIO, Drawcia was supposed to run away with VARIO following her, only for Drawcia to draw up a brick in front of him a moment later. In the final story VARIO instead tries to bring her down on the floor, only for Drawcia to draw said brick wall in front of him right away. 2. When VARIO passes by the poor Woodster sitting on the street wanting money, the woodster is referred to as a beggar. While this word does occur in the first final version of the story, "beggar" was removed from later revisions.Working Fatso
1. Nearly all instances of "training course" was originally known as "training program".
2. The training course boss wasn't referred to as Wario-Man, but simply "the training program/course boss". I probably changed it so the boss could be referred to by name, and to avoid having to type "training program/course boss" or such all the time.
3. The part where after they have had lunch, Wario-Ware-Man doesn't sneak over to the Woodster's seat to snatch the little bread crumb, but he does in the final story. I probably forgot to put this mention in the plot doc, and only added it when I was finally writing on the story itself.
4. In the final test where they have to bake a cake, the dough in Wario-Ware-Man's bowl would have had fermented out of the bowl instead of exploding. Probably improvised this part a little bit.
Maya's Strawberry Cake
1. The very beginning of the sentence mentioning Maya walking on a path where cars aren't allowed to drive says "About 30 minutes later" instead of "About 20 minutes later". Can't remember why this was changed.
2. After giving Maya the arm bracelet, Valeriano would've mentioned he bought it for his girlfriend Roshita by name, while in the final story he simply refers to Roshita by the term "my girfriend".
3. The discussion between Maya and Minnie over the latter's boyfriend originally didn't occur.
The (VERY) long journey!
1. When Wario-Ware-Man and siblings are moving out of their house, Maya the Bee was originally going to be heading out of her house only to see her next-door friends having just pulled out their Wario-Bikes. In the final story, she is standing outside the hedge to their property reading on her newspaper, only to see Wario-Ware-Man and siblings already standing outside their house next to their Wario-Bikes. She also asks them where they're going instead of what they are doing.
2. At the end of the story, Susie wasn't seen passing by Wario-Ware-Man & siblings and Maya. This little scene were added to the final story to try and setup series 3 that would eventually be written on two months later.
--Wario bros & Maya the Bee plot list Series 3 6.txt--Priscilla's Driving Lesson
A detail which was left unchanged is the scene where Priscilla gets arrested by the police, where she is actually escorted to the back seat of the police car, handcuffed and everything. Suzana wasn't even nearby at this point, and she bumped into their police car with her bike instead of her just simply bumping into one of the cops. Priscilla was also helped by the police to the wall where they were going to do the comparison, instead of Priscilla having to do it on her own. None of these details ended up in the story itself, and they were probably dropped because I didn't like it in the end.
--Scrapped stories--There were a few stories in consideration as well. The stories below comes from the "Wario bros & Maya the Bee 3.8.3.txt" file. Only the summaries/teasers were written, and they're both for Series 2. The "Life's a Beach Disaster" story were actually written in the end under the "Lost Series 2 episode" name, but the existence of this teaser confirms the story was actually intended to appear during Series 2 as Story 9.
5 (13). Maya's Magical QuestWhat starts out as a calm, simple day turns into a strange adventure for Maya the Bee when her lawn mower runs off along with her and out into a cliff, where she falls down into a strange fantasy-like world. While exploring this new world she meets up with Minnie Mouse from the Disney Series. Minnie's looking for her boyfriend Mickey, who have gone missing since the day she last saw him. Maya's just looking for a way back home to her own world, but is more than eager to do some thorough adventuring in this new place she's in. Maya offers to help Minnie find Mickey and they both go in search for her missing boyfriend. Little do Maya know the dangers that will await them both. Together, can Maya and Minnie overcome the dangers around the corners and rescue Mickey?
9 (17). Life's a Beach DisasterVARIO is relaxing in the backyard outside their house, and the sun shines only over their house while it's raining everywhere else. Seeing this strange phenomenon, Warrio decides to turn their backyard into a beach for everyone to do whatever they have in mind, but all VARIO gets is nothing but disaster from the customers. Seeing no other way out of it, he resorts to seek help in getting rid of them, even if it means involving Drawcia the teenage witch. She won't be doing it for free though; to help him with his problem, she needs his entire wallet, of which VARIO is reluctant to give to her, but has to agree in the end. Will VARIO be able to drive the customers away from their house?
A few stories were also in consideration for Series 3 as well. Unfortuntely all that exist of them are their names:
Maya's Magical Quest 2: The Great Mystery
Maya's Magical Quest 3
The summary for the first story though was written down for The W-W-M.W.V Team's Adventures series, but the idea was never put into use.
Earlier versions of this document hints at more stories being considered as well.
--Wario bros & Maya the Bee 2.9.3.txt--VARIO against the three Warionoses
Very much unknown apart from the fact it would have involved VARIO dealing with the three Wario-Nose characters which got dropped in the end. By this point it was undecided whether it would have belonged to Series 2 or Series 3.
--Wario bros & Maya the Bee 2.9.4.txt--The below story summary/teaser suggest the story featured in Series 3 was going to originally appear in Series 2. It was eventually moved to Series 3 and rewritten a bit.
9 (17). Powerpuff Fatsos; Wb&MtB version! It's just another day in the home of Wario-Ware-Man and his siblings, and VARIO is up early in the morning watching TV. While flipping through channels he comes across a cartoon on TV called "The Powerpuff Girls". Not really liking it, he instinctively reaches his hand out to the table for the remote, but accidentally teleports himself into the show by mistake. When his other brothers find out what's happened they head into the TV along with Maya the Bee to take him back to the real world. It's going to be easier said than done though. As if all the disasters going on with them interfering with things wasn't enough, they'll be facing a very big threat soon, an even bigger one that the so-called "VARIO-Man" ego of VARIO barely ever was.
--Wario bros & Maya the Bee 2.9.5.txt--The idea for the very last story from Series 3 was already being thought up here. Main difference compared to the finalized story is that instead of VARIO having his ticket blown away by the wind, it would have been stolen by Drawcia, leading to a race between the two to the musical. Looking back on this, I probably gone for a much simpler scenario just to get the story done quickly enough. Interestingly, the below teaser survived all the way up to "Wario bros & Maya the Bee 3.8.2.txt".
Last episode(number not yet decided). Welcome to Paris!Wario-Ware-Man and co, along with Calimero and his friends are in Paris to attend a musical performance. VARIO on the other hand, has been off to a store to buy himself some snacks, and has promised the others he will be rejoining the party soon. However, when he arrives to the place he was supposed to meet up with them he finds out that they're not there. Despite this VARIO takes the time to enjoy some sightseeing. Realizing he needs a ticket to attend the musical, he goes off to get one. However, this is one of those moments that will gradually lead him into trouble, especially after refusing to pay in order to use the lift up the eiffel tower. Even worse; Drawcia the teenage witch soon shows up to cause more trouble for poor VARIO, and even steals his ticket, leading to a race to see who can get to the musical first. Who will make it there? VARIO or Drawcia?
--Wario bros & Maya the Bee 3.1.txt--The story teaser for Maya's Strawberry Cake was originally titled "Maya's little stroll", and it would have been the 10th story rather than the 9th. As the older title suggests, Maya was going to take just a simple little stroll, meeting some new people on the way(which happens in the finalized story), only difference is Maya isn't going to any faraway baking store to buy some ingredients for her cake.
10 (18). Maya's little stroll(to be written)It's morning in Dumb-Isle, and in Maya the Bee's house she is sitting in her living room watching the TV with a cup of honey tea in her hand. For the most part there's nothing of real interest on the TV, so she shuts it down and takes a moment of silence. Growing bored very quickly, Maya decides to go outside and take a stroll. While on her personal journey she stumbles upon some new persons, including Minnie Mouse from the Disney series. Little does she know where else her stroll will be taking her...
--Wario bros & Maya the Bee 3.4.txt--The story teaser for story 1 was originally titled "The Nosy Temple Mystery" instead of "The Ancient Temple". A big difference is it was Maya the Bee who initiated the investigation by reading a article in the newspaper, whereas in the finalized story it is Priscilla who gets things started after she stumbles upon said ancient temple while being out on a stroll.
1 (19). The Nosy Temple Mystery(to be written)The Wario bros and Maya the Bee, along with Calimero and his friends, decide to investigate an ancient temple after Maya the Bee finds an article in the newspaper that landed on the doorstep to the Wario bros' apartment telling about an supposedly wiped out civilisation whose remains may be located there. Little do they know, that the inhabitants of this temple are far from being anything ordinary.
--Wario bros & Maya the Bee plot list Series 2 1.9.txt--A scenario was cut in which Maya the Bee is assaulted by a gang of Biker-Woodsters. Wario-Ware-Man comes to her aid, but ends up being chased and beaten up by the Biker-Woodsters. This was cut out from the story because I thought it was a little too eventful.
Character art and other pics
Compared to The Wario Show, this series had a bit more art made for it.
The full-size version of the poster for Series 1. This art was made mainly for fun, but it was also made at a point when the first story in the series had yet to be written.
The full-size version of the poster for Series 2. Comparing this against the poster for The Wario Show, this one is perhaps a bit more representative of the series overall. It also demonstrates Maya's height in relation to Wario-Ware-Man and his siblings.
Artwork of Cindella, Maya's childhood sister and Warrio love interest in Series 2.
The original sketch for the Series 1 poster. As can be seen in the lower right corner I did try to draw at least the Wario-Ware-Man character. While his body turned out mostly right, I had massive difficulty getting the proportions of his head right. For the finalized poster I resorted to using 3D models instead.
The original Cindella sketch.
Some artwork of Maya the Bee as Trinity. This was basically an idea I had in mind for what was going to be the third part of stories for my "Wario bros & Maya the Bee" series. There would've been an story where Maya would be dressed like Trinity, hacking into security computers and all that stuff. The story itself would have been an slight reference to an scrapped scenario in Crash Twinsanity where Coco Bandicoot would have done exactly same thing. I can't remember what the plot was going to be though, because I never wrote it down.
Another sketch of Cindella.
